Just wanted to get people's opinions... Is it too late to do one last full clip?

I have a TB who has a fine coat, was last clipped (full clip with fine blades) beginning of November. His coat is growing out again now, and he is getting warm/Light sweat when worked. I will be stepping up his workload now to make sure he's fit.

Ive been debating whether its too late for a couple of weeks or so. Ive got the first BE event of the season end of march, I want him looking his best. I want to tidy his legs up over the next few days too, so wondered whether to just do the whole of him!

Thoughts please :)

Thanks, I think I'll just go ahead and do it, i always slight dread clipping though as it stops being fun after about five mins and i get a really itchy nose!! :D

Our three hunters are having their final clip on Tuesday, although I will take my boys legs off to prevent any funny lines as his summer coat comes through, and also to try and keep him clean as we will be heading out to some parties and he is a messy creature!!

I'm going to clip my daughter's welsh A either this weekend or next for the first time this year. Just need to get the sedative from the vet!!!

Over winter my pony gets full clip less legs and half head but this morning we took it all off so he doesn't get lines as his summer coat comes in. My pony is grey so it doesn't really affect his summer coat but I know darker coloured ponies sometimes lose the shine off their summer coat if clipped late.

I forgot how skinny his legs are when they're naked

Mine has been rugless and un worked all winter, today gave him thorough groom, chucked a light weight rug on and will be full clipping next weekend. Have always done it at the end of Feb and no issues.

Once clipped will start riding again to get him fit for the summer and keep the weight down, he is a cob who looks at grass and gets fat !!
