Two questions in one really. First of all, would you say 5ft7 is too tall for a 13.1hh little cob? (pictures below) and how much weight would you say hes up for carrying? (out hacking mainly)

Also from the pics you can see how much he has changed shape since i first brought him, he has now just turned 5, is it possible he has more growing to do? when i first brought him, he was very wormy (incase this makes much difference)

Hello :) Lovely coblet !!

My boy has just turned 5, he is a gypsy cob, and I would say he stopped growing UP last year to be honest. He is now starting to fill out width ways, if that makes sense.

I am 5 ft 6 and he is 14.2 hh - we go together really well, but I honestly wouldn't want to think of going any smaller. At the end of the day, you have to consider weight, tack included, if you feel comfy and if the pony can carry you ok. Be honest with yourself, and see how it goes.

im 5'8" and about 52kg and i am happy riding a 13.2 (weight wise) but i do look a bit too tall.. not terribly though. plus a cob by type should be able to hold a fair bit!
3rd picture in my signature is a 13.2

this is an old pic of me sat on him, he has filled out quite a bit since then and does take up my leg more now :)

Well I was going to say I thought you'd be too big, based on the fact that I'm 5ft8 and would feel uncomfortable on anything less than about 14hh but you look fine and are unlikely to be too heavy for him based on how lovely and slim you are. He will probably chunk up more, he may grow more, being poor when you got him may mean he isn't quite done yet, and even if he doesn't lots of correct work will build topline which will give the illusion and feeling of more height.
