Too young

Hey that is a fabulous price for that pony. If there is nothing wrong with it, it could make someone pretty good money in a year or two's time.

I like it - shame it wasn't this side of the Pond.

That doesnt make it much better, its obviously been worked a while now to be broken to ride and drive. It shouldnt be worked just turning three anyway
 
Seems too young to me as it has obviously been in work for some time, I am also worried by a 9 yr old child riding in heavy traffic (probabaly with no hat or boots).
 
Its disgusting to see think some people get away with keeping horses when they are clearly so clueless!

Nobody want to rescue him for a little persons pony!? Surely one of you wants an ickle project for a kids pony of the future???!!!

Far too young to be ridden - poor little pony, it might look ok now but will probably be crippled with arthritis by the time it's 12 or 13. If you see x-rays of a 2 year olds joints you will see the growth plates are nowhere near mature. Why on earth can't people WAIT?

Sorry but I had to laugh at that!
The more I look at it the more I find myself trying to justify a 'need' for another 13.2hh! I really hope it finds a nice home where they will let it chill out and grow up then take things slowly

i am sorry to bother you but you have bothered me. I find it extrmely sad that you would be riding and driving a pony at 2 years of age. Its sickening, muscles and bones are not strong enough to cope with such weight and measure. If he drifts to the side maybe you should take that person of his back, turn him away and try again next year! as for being sound, i doubt he will be this time next year
 
Gah! I don't claim to be a speaker of the queens english and i regularly make spelling mistakes.....but the kind of mistakes they have shown in spelling and/or grammar are awful! My 9 year old niece (or is it neice??!! haha!) can spell better than that!
 
I don't think it's as bad as many have professed. Gangley horses are another thing, but this is a stocky, mature looking pony. God, I remember 2yo's (and I mean 2yo's, not rising 3) being competed all summer in belgium in the pony club. They lasted. It's a free country and all that...

[/ QUOTE ] I back almost all of mine at 2 and they are all long-reined (driven) quite some time before that. I must be disgusting and clueless - thankfully my customers, who pay good money for my well behaved, nicely trained horses, don't see it this way

my two cents worth, the age you back a horse depends on how quickly the breed reaches maturity, some breeds mature more quickly than others.
Backing or long-reining a horse is different from it being ridden or driven. I am a little concerned that people that people find it 'ok' to ride or drive a horse before it is physically mature enough to carry a rider or pull a carriage. The quality of some of the adverts these days is appalling, the spelling was awful and the rider should have been properly dressed.
