Don't excited.....wasn't me actually jumping her. I don't "do" fences.

I'm buzzing!!!!

Got tacked up way before my friend Harley arrived, who was jumping her, so I thought I'd be brave and take her into the warm up arena. This is she who doesn't do riding in public!

Don't think she's been indoors before and she didn't want to go near to the wall at first but soon settled. Trot work was so forward and she felt so light. I was sweating buckets by the time Harley arrived but only had one little canter (didn't want to tire Patches out). I'm guessing I was on board about 15 minutes though constantly trotting. Not schooled her really for ages as I don't have an arena at home.

Harley hopped on, did a few practice jumps and then took her in the Clear Round.

Bless Patches, she was as good as gold. She went into the arena and you could see her little ears prick when she realised she was doing a course of fences! She went clear and got a rosette.

I did video the round and will get Duncan to upload it later for me.

That little mare impresses me yet again. She's not jumped a course since Lucy owned her and yet she went in there and didn't stop or act up. I love her so much

Thanks Harley....from me and Patches!

Big hugs and thanks for Patches too, my little horse of a lifetime.

That is sooo good of her to behave how she did considering how long it had been since she'd jumped! God she's goood, can't wait to see video!

I rode her today!!!!! LOL

I'm just not ready for a course of jumps at the moment. Maybe by the end of summer. I forgot to ask how high they were.

Go do a 1ft6 minimus - all the village shows do those and you can simply canter round - you will get the jist, get bitten by the bug and want to go higher

Also see if your local RCs /ECs have *truely novice* classes - they would be perfect!

Well done Patches - now you'll have to have a go with her. Big horses can do well - Mr C was the local club 2' SJ champion and he always did well at low XC - not the fastest but always clear.
