Just laid down my rubber mats and added the wood pellets, now I'm not sure how to go about mucking them out and what tools to use? Do people put on their marigolds and lift out the poo's or use a shavings fork and then what do I do about the wet, sweep the dry off the top and then shovel out the wet? Sorry for being so dumb, I've only ever had straw beds before!!!
Thanks! :)

Aquamax do a fine tine fork which is made with wood pellets and crumble in mind. Might be worth checking them out?

best thing i've found is a snow shovel for picking up the wet areas. the ones with the red plastic shovel part are cheap and well up to the job.
for the manure, the best thing is either rubber gloves + skip, or a poo-picker.
fwiw it takes me about 4-5 mins per stable to muck out wood pellets.

I use a normal shavings fork for the lumps, and a snow shovel (Like Kerilli suggests) for the wet bits.

I sometimes sort of push the dry stuff off the top before I pick up the wet stuff, but normally I wait for the wet stuff to show through before I take it out.

it takes me about 5ish mins per stable on wood pellets and we don't have any rubber mats down. take out about half a barrow total each day between 2 horses.

I pooh pick with marigolds first and then I use a scoop and prong to take out the wet. I find this easier than a shovel as I tend to end up taking clean stuff out as well as the wet with a shovel. The prong is smaller and better (for me) for accuracy!!

Even cheaper than shovel, use a XL sized dustpan from Tesco for the wet (gets all the bits up and the liquid if any) and then gloves and a bucket to pick out the poop. Very quick and very cheap!
