So how long would be expected after my guy has had a tooth removed and sinuses flushed would I be looking at to return him to work providing all goes well? My yard has no winter turnout so that's possibly going to mean I need to move yards also what bedding would you have your horse stabled on or does it not matter?

My mare had molar extracted under standing sedation, no sinus flush. Had check up and plug removed after three weeks and was given the all clear to go back to work. Good luck.

Sorry forgot to add - post op turned out, no change to food or bedding, just meds and kept an eye that the plug did not fall out - it did we found it in her bed, vet came and pooped it back in.

I gave mine about eight weeks , he looked trashed when he got back from horsepital he was out but came in every morning to get out the flies .
He did need physio to his facial muscles after so that would be my top tip get a good physio to check yours after , my horse was really very sore indeed.
The repeated infections made mine loose condition in the run up to the extraction and he looked generally c**p so I did not resume work until he was looking better and the physio had his face pain free.
The prolonged wearing of the gag and them hauling the tooth out would account for the pain if you think about it.
