Top 5 Threads of the Year according to H&H.....really!??

Clearly! I just don't get the point of doing a top 5 if you're going to pick and choose what is in it. Some of the REAL top threads have actually been quite good!

They don't need to put the actual thread title (if that's what they were worried about) but at least summarise it.

If I'm right in thinking thr C4 and FB threads were in latest news, the actual top thread in there is about the Godolphin scandal or the Red Lion/Turners abbatoir scandal (depending whether you go by view or replies). Surely worth a mention if you're going to make it up!

What a load of rubbish.

The Tessy Bear and the Clwyd threads ran for weeks and weeks. In fairness I think there might have been more than one Beeston thread.. which might have over-taxed their brains. Adorable Alice's thread is the work of a genius and really deserves a place.

I have two theories about HH's choice: either it has been done to please the advertisers ...or... the threads were chosen after the annual office knees-up!

Why do people buy cobs DID make it to the top five one week. Perhaps we ought to vote for "thread of the year" i.e. the one we enjoyed most, between Christmas and New Year.
I'll be voting for Tessybear.;)

Just noticed that Welcome to HHO Towing Clinic currently is on 1465 replies and 102080 views since October 2011! A significant number of those posts will be from our ever helpful ROG, thanks ROG!

Perhaps for the purposes of Threads of the Year we should disallow stickies, however.

Even so, if you go by views, the Tessybear BOGOF thread is top with 500,000+ views!

I think we should all write in and ask for the figures supporting this top 5. Tee hee!

Not read all the posts, but TESSYBEAR's thread was hands down the most popular this year, was great fun, and got the whole forum involved. Why on earth not use that thread ?

Indeed, why on earth not :confused3:?

Do they seriously think that HHOers are not going to notice that they have got it wrong? Or maybe they do, but don't care. All rather odd.

If that is the winning thread which get the free xmas cake then it should be allowed !!

PS - thanks for the thanks

So who knows how to set up a vote and let's us all vote for our top five threads.

Some threads do stay with you, and as others have said I do not think I registered the ones selected, but the Tessy/Dolly thread captured everyone's interest. Love Alice and Ted's adventures, will never forget Jess&Prince, hope one day Tinseltoes finds her cob, and threads like Clwyd and Beeston are a reminder thast there are some very tragic situations with animals suffering.

Has anyone actually raised this with whoever
I think that we are collectively still musing out loud at this stage. Or is that just me?

I like the idea of a vote for our top 5 favourite threads. I wonder if a techie person could set one up. It could take place over a couple of weeks at least, so that peeps have time to notice it and vote.

I've just found out how to rank the threads according to views/replies (it took me a while being a techno numpty). Still baffled as to how H and H managed to ignore the popular threads despite hard evidence!

Hee hee this does make me laugh it is a bit like the teacher picking the 'best' essays to show at the school open day because they are PC and conformist. Much more fun to show the slightly off the wall ones..... :) I am sure there was one about chafing knickers which was hilarious & would get my vote. ;)
