Had saddler out to fit a saddle on my TB x Cob in the week (more like a pure Tb though) She has put on a fair bit of much needed condition since I got her in Feb but saddler said she needs to build up her top line. Then she will come back late summer and adjust saddle accordingly before hunting season starts. In the mean time she had given me a gel pad to use.

Can anyone please suggest the best way to do this without spending a fortune on feed and supplements? I exercise about 3 times a week over the summer 1 of these times will be an hour jumping lesson a week

Lots of transitions, and working properly from behind. Hill work is brilliant, but if not available then pole work, including raised poles. Also makes schooling more interesting :D a good balanced diet, and I've also heard lots of people feed hay/haylage from the floor instead of from nets as it makes them stretch out more - no chance of doing that with my boy though, he's a real guzzler  xx

Don't get me started about my saddle nightmare & topline!

Ive found that carrot stretches really helped with Phoebe after being worked
Also, raising her back/dipping her back by moving your hand over their back/under their belly - shes improved alot since ive been doing them.

Thankfully, we also have alot of hills.
