I am going to have a major rid-out of my horse's possessions I have too much stuff! So what are the top ten things you would keep besides tack and rugs?

1) first aid kit
2) grooming kit
3) lunging equipment
4) headcollars
5) tack cleaner
6) travel equipment
7) hi vis

I actually think that's it!

Nappies
Hoof pick
Calendula and hypericum cream
Sudocream
Cactus cloth
Hoof boots
Metal curry comb
Hairbrush
Shampoo
Self adhesive bandages!

Multi purpose rugs like Thermatex or nice soft turnouts

Lunging cavesson as they are so useful

Bandages- again multi purpose - i would get rid of travel boots if storage was an issue

Thin summer sheet type rugs as they are good as under rugs and can be washed often which means you can get away with less outer rugs

Feed scoops - you can never have too many

A nice multi purpose pair of exercise boots

High vis

I dont have a lot of stuff to be completely honest :D But, my tops are, in no particular order,

Numnahs (bit of a collector)
Grooming kit
First aid kit
Lunging stuff
Baby oil
Various bits

So. True.

I don't think I've ever got rid of anything and it's paid off before - like the nose net I bought ten years ago for about two quid, sold the horse, then needed it for another head-shaker about five years later when they didn't make that style any more... I've still got it somewhere... :)

Hoof pick
Headcollar
Lead-rope
Curry comb
Mane and tail brush
Mane and tail spray
Pig oil
Sulphur
Endless sugar free polos!
Mounting block made to fit my stirrup height

You guys are way too sensible ;) I have a very wussy tb so I think my list would mostly be rugs...

1) Diamonte browband
2) Cordless clippers
3) Hairbrush
4) Super soft body brush
5) Hoof oil
6) Hi vis
7) Waterproof exercise sheet
8) Waterproof trousers
9) Thermal gloves
10) My amazing fleece lined riding boots!

LOL Well the first thing to get rid of is the rugs! I have one each kept in case one of my horses gets sick. They haven't been used in years and the linings are probably falling apart!! As for tack! The only thing I would keep is my saddle, and that is for my benefit!! I use my rope halter with a 12'line for groundwork/travel and with a rope rein for riding......I use my hoof pick, rasp and hoof knives for trimming hooves, but if I had to let them go I could ride roadwork for trimming!! I use a dandy brush for a quick once over and I got a lovely new brush for manes and tails at the last Equidays (NZ!) Oh yes, I do use a stick (either a bit torn from a bush, or my 'posh whip' or carrot stick) as an arm extension, mainly used when mounting to ask for hq over towards me as I have short arms and short legs so need a 'mounting block/log/boulder!'....I wouldn't ride without my helmet and body protector though!! Talk about the KISS principle!!
