Pro or grass roots ? Who has been your best ever trainer and what sets them apart. Just a thought as have lost my fav trainer due to relocation and I can't really explain why she was so good. Just got us working as a real partnership.

Top trainer who has been with me all my life is my Mum!
Followed by Dorothy Johnson FBHS who has trained me off and on (currently on!) for most of my life and most recently Richard Carruthers who has worked miracles with me and my horse!
What sets them apart is the way they push you to achieve things you dint know you where capable of, and always leave you more confident than when you started.

David McPherson. Says what he thinks, came across as actually wanting to help, not just standing there and going through the motions and was inspiring.

John Whinnett. Known him years and he's been brilliant to me throughout.

Nigel Taylor near Banbury ... Since going to him I have jumped hgher than I ever thought possible and am just registering with BE, prior to going there in Feb I was anticipating doing a pre intro training class later in year... but instead I am looking forwadr to my first intro!!!

I've got Pony Club training on Monday and Tuesday with Richard. Hopefully he'll see my horse's potential, ignore his naughtiness and work miracles with us too!

He most certainly will, I really thought we were a lost cause, but he has turned us round in 5 or 6 lessons, I can't afford loads of lessons, but I get so much out of them. My last lesson 3 weeks ago was the first since September, we ended up jumping round a 1.20m track in his indoor, this on a horse that couldn't jump a BN last year!!
Enjoy!
And Oi that will be why I have to wait for my next lesson, all you pesky PCer's!!

I've had one lesson with him years ago but that was dressage on my other horse. I'm a bit nervous as he taught on this course last year and had them jumping 3'6" out of trot! My horse has been stopping at 2' fences from trot so I'm really hoping we don't do that. I'm sure we'll both benefit from the intensive training although both me and horse will be shattered after 1 hour each of dressage, SJ and XC on Monday and Tuesday.

I'm one of the oldies in Pony Club now as I'm 22 (nearly 23) but I bet all the little kids will show me up on their ready made horses and ponies!
