Hi I’m new here and I was wondering if anyone could help me here. My welsh cob has been recovering from laminitis for 3 months now getting better by the day. He is getting fed hay and top spec top chop zero with top spec anitlam. However I was wondering if there’s a difference between top chop lite and top chop zero?
Top chop lite is easier for me to get a hold of so will I be able to change to it ?
Thank you hope someone can help :)

Top Chop Lite is basically a blend of alfalfa and oat straw, whereas the Top Chop Zero is based on oat straw (no alfalfa). As a result, Top Chop Zero is very low in calories (4 MJDE/kg). Top Chop Lite is still fairly low in calories, but is higher than the Zero at 7.5 MJDE/kg. Whether it will make a difference to your horse depends mainly on how much of it you feed. If you are feeding just a handful to put a supplement in then it is unlikely to make any difference. If you are feeding it by the bucket load then I would stick to the Zero.
