Hi I'm after some tips for building up a topline! And how to keep the horse in an outline as he will work in one for only about a minute then bring his head up and not want to listen for so long if that makes sense?
He won't be able to stay in an outline without sufficient topline. Cortez is right - get a good instructor and take a lot of lessons. Its important to build topline correctly. If you don't work him correctly he will develop muscle in the wrong places which is hard to undo. If you keep pulling him into a shape he hasn't the muscle to hold he'll resent the pain and misbehave. No gadgets and no tips can do this. Only good correct work I'm afraid!
A good exercise I do to promote topline is slow walk and trot work up hills, and lunging over raised poles. Everything done slowly and controlled is what has worked best for me
Hi, looking into an instructor that will ride him and also give me a lesson on him, there aren't many hills around us unfortunately, but can do some raised trotting poles so will give them a go!
