Sorry this is a massive rant which I need to get off my chest!!

The stupid man at the stables went into my field yesterday and topped the whole field and left all the loose grass in the field for my horse plus others to eat! Plus with all the rain we had yesterday it was soaked!
There is my horse in the field plus 1 mare in foal and 2 other race horses, one of which is worth some serious money!
Anyway about 5 months ago this guy went in and topped the field in which as a result his horse got put down the next day from colic! So does he not learn!!

I was so mad by this - I got a phone call whilst I was at work to say my horse has been rescued out of the field and he is stable as the field has been topped!
Ahhhh!! Why can't people just say what they are going to be doing and I can move all the horses!!

Sorry rant over!! But I need to get it off my chest!

Has anyone had any experience of this before!!???? Or is it just me!

I spoke to my vet and they said it takes 2 weeks for the grass to dry out when it's been wet as its mould under it all... And when its dry they can go back out on it after a week.

I keep my horse on a farm and this has happened to us again this year. If nothing else, having a tractor and mower working around loose horses is hardly sensible. My horse is crazy for mowings - she will even eat them when they have been dumped in a pile and rotted down for 6 months, so to have a plentiful supply being spewed out in front of her would be heaven to her. The trouble is, farmers assume that because cows can safely eat mowings, so can horses. Quite why he thinks we go to so much trouble raking and removing the grass I don't know.
