Just read this article on the BBC website BBC Hunting Story and its quite interesting. However it ends with an anti saying (about the Tories repealing the Act) "This just doesn't make political sense. I can see why - because of some of their traditional support base - they might be toying with the issue, but I would suggest that, having toyed with it, they put it firmly back in the toy cupboard and don't touch it again."

And this worries me. Rural areas, and followers of rural pursuits are more likely to support the Tories anyway, so its not as if this is an issue that will gain lots of new votes for the Tories, and therefore wouldn't be much of a priority for the Tories if they get back into power. Do people think that the Tories will actually make this an issue? Or is it one of those things where they are just beating the drum to get their followers pumped up?

Also I saw this Labour Bash Tory Toffs , and maybe the Tories will be worried about being called 'Toffs' and will be less likely to support an activity that is wrongly seen as being for so called 'Toffs'.

What do others think?

I'm a conservative, however I wont vote for them for this reason alone. There are so many other problems out there I think it will do them more harm than good.
The areas with a strong hunting follwing would probably go tory anyway.

I support hunting...and previously the Tories. But hunting repeal or not (and they only say they will have a vote on it...) I would struggle to vote for them while that idiot Cameron is around.

As long as they support hunting they will never get voted in.

The Hunting Act is Labour's greatest achievement and the most popular law passed for many decades.
