My boy went lame about 4 weeks ago and we thought it was brusied sole but it didnt get better and vet decided that we should investigate. Nerve blocked foot and fetlock and nothing. So he came back yesterday and joint blocked knee and we then x rayed. It was so clear on one of the xrays that he has torn the ligament away from the bone but need to scan him to see exactly which. This is above the knee so not common (according to our vet) the vet was in agony from broken ribs from a fall on Saturday that he sustained while out hunting. So we have to wait until next week to scan - has anyone any experience with this sort of problem. He is now on box rest for 12 weeks with just 10 minutes out each day to stretch his legs. Good that he is a nice boy and doesn't mess on the lead rope. He is only 6 by the way and a show jumper but we havent a clue how it happened. Just got our other boy sound from spavin almost a year ago in both hocks but he has started jumping again and is in great form so I will keep my fingers crossed for the other one. He is the grey on the right and the boy with spavin is the chestnut on the left
