So today Daisy had a general anaesthetic to have a wart removed from her chin and, whilst under, had her foot xrayed. Turns out she has torn a ligament in her front index toe (I'm assuming from the bone as he said there are some bone fragments)

The vet thinks that, as it's stable, it will heal in 3 - 4 months with rest but I've made the classic mistake of googling, most of which suggests they don't really heal...so three questions...
1. Has anyone got any positive stories of dogs returning to full 'work' (i.e. canicross, multiday hiking) successfully after just rest?
2. Has anyone got any suggestions to entertain a very fit (we were due to run a half marathon in three weeks ) dog who is only allowed two, on lead, 10 minute walks a day?
3. Can anyone recommend a physiotherapist in Gloucester who will put together a rehab programme for us? The vet was seriously unhelpful on this front (though I will be grilling him again when I go to pick her up at 1500)
Thanks

Picture of her sulking in the sun yesterday because we wouldn't throw the ball
