Well its finally been!! It's absolutely chucked it down ALL night!! Just thought I'd share that there is actually rain about!! Best check that dressage is still on now & arenas not flooded!!!!

It rained hard here in Yorkshire as well.
We've been having dribs and drabs over the past couple of days, and my brown lawn is now turning green again. Last night's 'sprinkling' will really kickstart things - I hope!

Been laughing for 24 hours about all the happy responses to rain from my friends with horses :D

Wonder how long it is before we're "complaining" about grass being too rich/growing too much/dirty, muddy horses!!! Hehe......

We had a drop over night but the ground is drying out rapidly already with the combination of a stiff breeze and warm sun - I despair of us getting the decent soaking that we so badly need. It seems like the rest of the country has had it except for us :(

We had a good downpour through most of the night, and the same the night before so the ground is finally starting to soften up a little :) The grass seems greener already too (or maybe i'm just being optimistic? :D )

absolutely torrential in bristol last night but was almost bone dry with the odd puddle this morning :S hopefully the grass got some through! pony wasnt looking very muddy though so we could do with more really! :(

We had a good sprinkling on Friday night and then torrential rain last night. The fields actually perked up after Friday's showers (and the garden), but I bet it's muddy on the tracks when I go to ride in a minute!! But it will soon dry out again as it's hot sun now.

I wonder if it reached east Kent (I am in the west of the county, near Surrey/Sussex borders)?

I'm in Cumbria and we had buckets of rain last night with thunder and lightning - looks like some of the horses have had a run round the field as well - it's been like a lawn for the past few weeks and this morning there are skid marks from hooves everywhere!

I have never been so happy to be 'rained off' at the yard as yesterday and then we had storms last night with heavy rain. I'm just trying to decide whether I dare put washing out as it came over rally black a while ago although it looks like it may be passing us by. I don't think we have had enough but did arrive will help a lot I am sure.

Don't you lot know it's rude not to share!! :(

As above...

We've had 3 drops, to add to the the other 3 we got about a month ago... and as it is now 23 Celcius and very sunny, it's already evaporated! :( :( :(

The hay field is going to seed having managed to grow about 15". Not looking good :(:(:(

we have had several days of useless showers that barely dampened the dust but it chucked it down most of the night and still showering now. fab:)

We had torrential rain, thunder and lightning for about 2 hours up in cumbria! Am glad my mare comes in at night, she would have gone crazy if she was out! The ground needed it though, although I don't really think the puppy approved, had to bring him to my room as he was shaking so much :(

Missed us again in Norfolk! Checked our weather forecast this morning for the coming week, never in my life have I felt depressed at a forecast of sun, sun & a bit more sun. We'll be looking like Arizona soon & as for hay, don't even go there, I reckon I'll be taking out a 2nd mortgage come the autumn, if this year's prices are anything to go by!

Just a sprinkling yesterday and even less overnight, not done anything worth speaking of. It came over as black as the ace of spades this morning, but ended up just damping the earth. Now the sun is out again...

We are in South Yorks too, have never been so happy to see rain, it siled it down all night. The rain kept waking me in the night but I just smiled happily, turned over and went back to sleep!

It is lovely and sunny at the moment too, perfect grass growing weather!
