Can someone please explain why any time someone decides they would not breed to totalis they are ripped apart?

I wouldn't use him. That's my prerogative. Does that mean it is fair for someone to have a go at my horse calling him ugly and usless? He's not a show stopper but he was not gotten to be a show stopper. He's a damn safe horse and I love him to bits and that's all that matters.

People need to get over totalis fanaticism.

Lol sorry. Just commented on a post about totalis stud fees, and someone replied to me tearing into my horse basically saying he is useless and ugly.

Who the hell is Totalis? If you mean Totilas, I'm not in the market to breed my high stepping Gelderlander to spiderlegs! Imagine the carnage.

I read this a Total Die hards and thought it was about Alan Rickman....

*wanders out again*

Oh bless lol have a hug

Sorry about the typo, i was on my phone and angry and walking to the car to go to the yard and see my horrible ugly horse who should have been shot. :p

My guess would be that they are closet breeding snobs who think just because a foal if by a spectacualr stallion it will walk on water. I breed pedigree ponies but dont think for a minute that the mare, the environment, the training and a hefty dose of luck dont have something to do with the horse as an adult. Half if not more of the gainsayers wouldnt be able to ride one leg of a horse like totilas never mind anything that was bred to that level of competition in mind as a youngster. What is needed isnt more warmbloods with talent to go to the olympics, but more easy trained, easy to deal with family horses but as everyone wants to breed or have the illustrious honour of breeding a top horse, hundreds of unrideable, temperamentally unsuitable horses will overhorse those who think they are better than they really are. So enjoy your sound healthy friend he sounds like a joy to own

And there was me thinking petrificus totalis...

Although I wouldn't breed mine to Totilas either. Even if they weren't male ;)

we breed warmbloods and would not use him. its not a crime to find a stallion unsuitable to use on your mare(s) or in your case your gelding :D breeders of any breed or type will choose a stallion that compliments their mare both conformationally and temperamentally and if someone does not think a particular stallion will do that then its their choice. there are many hundresd of good quality stallions available and even if they all had exactly the same stud fees and conditions the same stallion would not be used on all mares be that totilas or frankel through cobs and natives to champion donkeys

Quite! Glad eveyone else agrees with me that it is a choice not to use him. My poor donkey got lots of compliments tonight cause he is a good boy. Have him over totilas any day!

Oh my god so jealous. Very pretty horse and those white parts are so clean! How do you manage that? My grey doesnt stay clean for long than half an hour, and he's never that clean.
