Totally Outgrown???

Just browsing at horses for sale...

I understand when you ponies that totally outgrown at 12hh, thats fine, and it wouldn't put me off as a reason for sale.

However! I have seen a couple of adverts with 16.1hh and 16.2hh which are totally outgrown. Now these are TB/ Irish sport horses but from the pictures they don't look like weeds and who ever riding them doesn't look like a giant. It is a geniune reason for sale? (in these cases) or should alarm bells being going off??

I think they are referring to them being "too easy" to ride so they want more of a challenge type thing

Outgrown as in ability I'd say.

I agree with the above, however my 6'4" husband makes my 16.1 mare look like a 12.2, so could be literally outgrown if the person is tall!

Totally outgrown in terms of ability? The said horse has won a BE100, getting low 20's in dressage and ready to go Novice, its also on the market for over £10,000!!

Maybe more the horses ability has outgrown what the rider can handle as opposed the other way around?????
