I asked some some advise earlier this week regarding hacking and just a huge thank you to everyone for their advise!!!!! For you guys who dont know i was given a stunning warmblood who I was told would never hack at all as he is too scared and dangerous. I have had him a year and half and I just adore him. He is now dressaging (been to shows) and jumping but hacking was the one thing he would not do and as I am on my own in the evenings no one ever to go with :(

Soo I took the plunge over the last week and worked really had on getting his confidence outside the school and last night was the first time ever I had a canter in a the field (next to his field but massive for us) and we hacked down to the river passed his mate in the field (we even managed to navigate around the cat!!) and got home in one piece looking very proud of ourselves!!!!

I am just so pleased and I feel he will enjoy hacking but baby steps so lots more trips to the river you never know he may start splashing in the water soon!!!

totally pointless but thank you for reading!!

and just because
enjoying the view

Brilliant, well done you! Missed your previous post but I think that is massive baby steps in such a short time.
His big cute eyes in the second pic :) x

well done, massive first step - all you need to do is go tiny bit further each time and before you know it you will be there.

Gorgeous chap x

Thank you guys for your replys!!! hoping the weather holds and maybe tonight we can go for another canter in the field (may even practice some dressage or just mooch about) then head back down the track soo exciting I now dont have to school him all the time!!!

xx

I don't think that's pointless at all. I used to have a pony that wouldn't hack out and it was a massive achievement getting him out alone, so I completely understand where you're coming from. He's beautiful, by the way!

Thank you everyone!!! I am still buzzing had to tell everyone at work and they all looked at me blankly..then said ohh that sounds great hahahaha

he is a rather pretty boy and ohh does he know it!! he only rolls in dry patches, the school or in the barn so he does not get muddy totall diva!!
