Totilas rather pales by comparison

Lol I dont think that will be happening! I had a bit of an on-line spat with Heather! I am not in to breeding which is why the mare went back to her breeder to have bubbas.:)

Oh cripes... sorry to hear that! Pics of beaudiful bubba perchance?

Have to agree.... This horse was one of my favourites at the WEG. During his Kur,it was amazing how Juan Manuel rode Fuego one handed up the centre line whilst performing flying changes.... the crowd went wild and there were lots of boo's when they weren't put in first place !

Yes the resulting foal will be an Hispano Arabe,Only the crossing of Andalusian and Arab can produce an Hispano Arabe which is a breed in its own right and not a partbred,Lusitano crossed with Arab dosent produce an Hispano Arabe .
If you would like any futher information about this lovely breed of horse please visit the website Hispano Arabe UK Ltd its got lots of info and plenty of lovely picures of these horses working

DISCLAIMER: yes, this is bullfighting (no bulls killed in the video, just maimed :( ) BUT the horse and the horsemanship are spectacular. The stallion is called Orpheo (stable name Merlin) and he's 7/8 lusitano, 1/8 quarter horse. It's cutting, reining and dressage all in one, and I've never seen a horse like this one.

What a horse!
Off to work on going sideways ........

I stopped watching after a few seconds. I dont care how amazing the horse is i dissaprove of using it to stab and inflict pain on another animal for no reason other than a spectator sport.

Now that's the FASTEST trail class I've ever seen!

Amazing. Would like to see the standing martingale/tie-down removed but otherwise, fabulous.

And he's not docked, as so many of the doma vaquera horses sadly are.

I love that video, I've seen it before and I'm always left speechless.

As far as I can see he's not wearing a standing martingale, just a breastplate with no connection to the bridle - I could be wrong, but that's what it looked like to me.

I totally agree. I also think that the horse, being a prey animal, must be terrified.

Janey mackers!!
I'm not very well up on dressage but why didn't he win? Again I must state my dressage ignorance. I have never seen a horse so supple in all my life!! I have watched Totilas vid and there is no comparison-in my deeply unqualified opinion.
Merlin is the bees knees. Wish I could make mine go sideways like that..... on purpose!!
Must get me one o' them wheelbarrow bull things to speed things along....

I paused it to check when he was front on, no standing martingale seen!

And Feugo is great, saw him on the sunshine tour a few years ago, fab horse!

I love watching the working equitation, such skill and precision. Done always at a canter, no trotting allowed, and always one handed - to ride with two hands is for 'girls'.
The only time I've seen a Spanish rider use two hands is in competitive Dressage comps!

Because he wasn't technically the best (huge pirouettes, for one).
