Toto schooling - crit needed please :)

Just schooling Toto pony on Saturday, not many photos and they're not great, we sort of blend into the hedge at the far end of the school

Have been working on his outline for the past few months, he's really starting to work forward into his bridle and today he was tracking up lovely

Very proud

Please feel free to crit on my position, and be as harsh as you can as my riding is in serious need of help

If you look closely there are diamentes all round the edge of his saddlecloth

bex1984 - haha I know, my mum was busy so there was no one to video me, so I had to put my video camera on the arena fence so you can only vaguely see us!

I need to get my mum or stepdad to get some good pics on my proper camera, these were only stills of a video clip

Really difficult to see, can't really see the horse's outline. The only thing I did spot on your video is that at the beginning when you are close to camera you are very toes down and although in slow mo I think this is something you do when you put your legs on. Maybe raising your heel to the horses side to push Toto forward rather than using calf pressure?? Your body posture seems good and you seem to sit in well especially in canter and allow with the horse's movement.

Yes I noticed that when I watched the video back, I don't realise I'm raising my heel so will work on that

you both look lovely and you have a great posture. ask the person with the camera to stand with their back to the sun. that should help the glare

Only spotted the drawing the heels up as it is my bad habit and the first thing I always look out for when watching myself back - so you're in good company with that one

You need to sit back more and sit on your seat bones and bring your lower leg more under neath you - especially in the canter pic you need to think more long legs stretching through the back of the knee.
