Tough choice - cheap crappy bridle, or a better quality one?

I had a horse like that ... I possibly shouldn't admit to this lol but... I went into go outdoors and swapped the cheek pieces over (horse full size on everything barring length of face).

I don't have an expensive saddle either :)

I've had horses at my livery yard for years so know how it all works. Highly unlikely a saddle will ever be plonked or stuffed anyway.

Bridles have lots of thin leather straps to get caught and snapped!

Both my ponies' bridles are made up of secondhand bits from ebay and my old horse's bridle. I just replace bits as and when needed although I do plan to get her a nice Jeffries one at some point.

Well that's good to look at the website not quite sure why couldn't get to it via Google though!

Is the leather being cleaned/conditioned properly? I have never had an issue with even cheap leather cracking unless it has been allowed to dry out.

I have the same issue, but I need a pony sized noseband (for length) on a cob sized bridle. It's a pain in the backside!
Echo what's been said above - saddler to repair
Or if you are on Facebook, there are hundreds of horsey groups selling items and some may be fairly local to you. I was shocked at how much I spend for stuff when it sold for practically pence on these Facebook groups!
Good luck :)

and I would never use a synthetic bridle either (it wouldn't break if the horse gets hooked up if tied up inappropriately).

Not true, we use synthetic bridles at work and when we used full cheek snaffle bits we had three horses get the bars stuck in the window weave grills (horses were tied up with bridles on being tacked up) and every time the bridle broke before any damage was caused to the horses mouth. We now use normal eggbutt snaffles unless for some reason a particular horse needs the full cheek snaffle, then that horse gets their bridle put on just before they pull out.
