Tourism Hunting

Just watching that programme on BBC2 about hunting animals. They are bred to be hunted in some cases at the moment some american is trying to kill a Zebra. They are mostly tourists going to South africa.
What do you think about this? I personally find it abhorrent.

Inadequacy comes out in many forms, it seems.

...but not that different to the bird and game shooters closer to home? Pheasants are bred to be shot.

I just hope that the people they take on this hunting spree are acompanied by somebody who will put it out of its misery quickly if hurt but not killed by the amateur hunter.

If its sustainable hunting why on earth not?

You can't just call everything a nature reserve and give the middle finger to those who live in Africa!

i agree with naturally = although in both cases is better if the meat is put to use.

Er.. Because it's killing for killings sake perhaps? To satisfy some wealthy tourists ego?

I imagine the meat is put to use, waste not want not.
