Tow vehicle help- need guts!

I was, until the towbar debacle, a strong promoter of the Jeep Cherokee 2.8CRD, which with a towing capacity of 3300kg towed a dream. I then became the owner of a Kia Sorento (Mk1) which I loved for towing, unfortunately it has been in and out of the garage since a couple of weeks before Christmas. I am now sadly considering either trying to find a decent Jeep Cherokee or selling both the car and trailer and renting a lorry when required. I am utterly disillusioned with the towing vehicles on offer if you are on a small budget which also deal with the drive to work and general about town driving.

I have a Richardson Supreme Excel & tow 2 Irish Draughts 17hh and 16hh - Isuzu D-Max 3.5 ton pulling power the only car with enough guts for a big trailer & big horses. I used to have a Toyota Hilux but it only had 2.5 ton pulling power, so not enough for my horses. Love the D-Max a real work horse.

If you can run to new the new Navara would be high up on my list as they are very economical for everyday use 44+ mPG and 3.5 ton towing. you in london would find the surround view camera system very useful as well

Popsdosh is not exagerating about swb tow vehicles .They do cause problems . Get an anti snakeing device anyway .especialy if you get a swb. They are cheap as chips and might just save your life.
 
I've used Discovery 3 and Jeep Cherokee for towing (towed 2 big horses with both) each have 3.5t tow capacity and towed with ease, both auto.
If I had the budget then I'd get another Disco, but if not then the Jeep was great value for money (I now have a little lorry)
