Hiya

Did anyone go to Towerlands this weekend? Just wondered who had won the big classes?

Thanks

I've just heard that Joe Whitaker won the GP!! :-) Well done to him - thats brilliant. I dont know which horse he won it on yet.

Anyone else know anything please?!

i went saturday and sunday for a few hours paul barker won the derby challenge on saturday, guy williams 2nd and di lampard 3rd. (i think ) didnt see the finish of the class i was watching sunday so dont know who won it.

I was there but spent most of my time in the bar, so don't have a clue who won a thing!!

This was a fab event last year but I found it lacking in atmosphere and entertainment value this time. Maybe because it wasn't as close to Christmas, I'm not sure, but it seemed to be without the humour of last year. The funniest part was William and Pippa Funnell bickering throughout their teach in!

I was there on Saturday evening having a lovely dinner in the restaurant so I had a prime view! Ben Mayher won the top score, with Andy Mizon getting 4th I think too. The masters went to an Irish Capt. but I can't remember his name, sorry! Lovely grey mare though!

It was a very good show

I agree about the grey mare in the masters, she had a phenomenal jump.
Found his approach to fences rather odd though, seemed to come into them sideways, particularly fence 1 where I was sitting!!

Yes she had a huge jump and looked like quite a small horse too. I thought Paul Barker had a stranger approach

he always looks rushed!

I bet the bloke who came 2nd 1/2 second behind was totally gutted!! All that jumping for nothing !

I went sunday afternoon and a little bit of the evening, was excellent to watch... and meeting tim Stockdale just made me weekend

I'd like to see the results too - we had a load of the Intl riders on their way back to Holland stay at ours on Sunday night and most of yesterday, as they couldn't travel because of the weather - they arrived at 1am monday morning, and finally were allowed to travel at abour 4pm in the afternoon! Must've been a lot of intl riders there, as we had 21 staying with us, and then some others stayed at another local riders' yard too!
