towing car??

please can someone suggest a suitable towing car (one 550kg horse and ifor williams 510 trailer) really cant afford a 4x4 but need to tow...help!!

I don't know the weight of the trailer etc but you can get away with towing with a saloon, I used to tow a single horse box and single horse with a mondeo and was legal and it handled it well (used to work for police recovery so was able to weighbridge it and test the balance of weight between the trailer/car)

Volvo's tow quite well.

Check out estates... they can have a longer/lower wheel base which makes them studier and steadier to tow with.
One example (where you will have some choice) is Mondeo Estate, our 2007 TDCi has a kerb weight of 1,592kg and towing capacity of 1,800kg, self levelling rear suspension and lots of room for all your tack in the boot... I would love to get the Mk4 next time
