My little car is almost at deaths door and we are planning on getting a car we can tow with. We already have a Ifor 505 but currently my o/h who's a farmer is the one with a 4x4 and it being a company vehicle (not his own company) im not insured so come summer/harvest the trailer is not used which is a shame with summer shows.

We had all but settled on a VW Toureg but were put off it on speaking to the mechanic trying to fix my car this morning on very expensive repair costs. He recommended a Volvo (the big 4x4 one)- He is a friend also and his wife has horses so is quite clued up on horse travel!
I just think the Volvo looks SO BIG! and maybe a little ugly!?
Im not currently a tower! so its something I need to learn and practise, I currently drive a Peugeot 206 cc so am not used to a monster truck- this said im happy to drive anything but figure an "easy tower" will be best. ( Ive been told to avoid king cab- pick up types as they are more difficult)

So...can anyone recommend a tow car and point me in the right direction to work out what weight I will need to be able to tow legally (as in what will my trailer, tack, horse weigh etc)
- then also is there a site I can go though several different cars and see what their tow capacities are.
Thanks
