Just want to get a few opinions - How windy does it have to be before you dont tow your horse trailer and give the show/lesson a miss? I have a 4.6 range rover and a 510 ifor and I wouldnt dream of taking it out in high winds (wind strong enough so you can feel it in a car when your driving) but coming to work this morning I passed 4 trailers towed by fronteras & little four tracks - artic waggons and double deck busses were serving all over the place.

Am I too cautious or are they just mad and lucky to get away with it?

Am I missing something?

I hate towing when it's windy- I have a pick up and a gooseneck, which (IMO) are more stable than a normal trailer.

I wouldn't tow today unless it was an emergency.

If i can feel the wind pushing my car there is no WAY I'd take out a trailer! Or my horsebox tbh. If it is quite windy but not pushing vehicles about, it would depend where I was going, how far, etc.

I HATE driving in the wind! When I finally get my lorry back from the menders I won't be taking it out in winds more than about 5mph!

Depends on the trailer and tow vehicle, I was a passenger when a friend was towing a 510 on a reasonably windy day and it did not feel good to me so I would think it would have been worse for her, trailer was moving a lot so was tow vehicle. Another day I took my heavy old Rice out when it was a very windy day that was bringing trees down and it hardly moved - and before anyone says I should not have been out in it, I was taking a horse to the vets in an emergency was that or pts.
