I have been given use of a 4x4 Suzuki Grand Vitara XL-7 2.8 V6 by a family member. It wouldn't be my choice of towing vehicle as towing capacity is only 1850kg. However, by my calculations it will just about do the job of towing an IW510 (1000kg) plus my hunter (635 kg) travelling solo only.
We would only ever travel locally within 10 mile radius for pleasure/ vet visits/ fun rides at most once or twice a month. No motorway or dual carriageway driving. Mostly fairly flat B roads. I can't afford another vehicle & 510 is the only trailer I have access to.
Do other readers think this would be viable as a short term transport option until I can afford a heftier towing vehicle.

That will be fine as long as you have a B+E licence to drive it

Thank you Rog! I do have B&E and previously drove 5.5 horsebox but the trailer is a whole new venture! I will be going VERY steadily & get plenty of practise without neddy onboard first!
