Anyone tows with a Hyundai Tucson? if yes, does it tow well?
It will need to tow a Bateson Derby with 1 horse on short trips (about 20 minutes) but I would like a car that is reliable and economical (to buy and to repair if needed).
I have also seen some Ssangyong that looked interesting, although they look big and I'd prefer something that is easy to park when I do the school run or go grocery shopping.

Sorry I can't comment on the Hyundai Tucson but I didn't think they had much towing capacity.

I've had a 2018 Ssangyong Rexton for a 3 years and it's a great towing car with 3.5T towing capacity. You get a lot of car for the money but I wouldn't say it's cheap to run. It is a large vehicle with 7 seats/huge boot space.

The Rexton looks like a beast.
You are right about the towing capacity of the Tucson, it's only 1400 kg for the basic model and won't be enough as the trailer is downrated to 1450 kg. The bigger engines can tow 2200 kg which would work for me but I would need to find the right model.

I didn't know it was the same as Kia. I have a little Kia and I like that there is not much electric, much less likely to have problems this way. My husband has a very old tiny Hyundai and it runs nicely for it's age and parts are inexpensive to buy.

I've a 2014 Santa Fe, which is obviously not a Tucson but same company. It tows really well and is a lovely car. I've found it hard on diesel though.
