Hi all,

I made the decision to sell my mondeo and buy a 4x4 and do my trailer test, mondeo has now been sold.

I have a 6k budget and looking for a vehicle that will tow one 15hh horse in a trailer.

6k doesn't seem get much these days.

What do you recommend?

You could still tow with current B licence with one horse
Example
Skoda Octavia 4x4 GVW about 2100
Bateson Derby trailer down plated from 1700 to 1400 and 675 empty leaving 725 for the trailer load/horse

Rog,

would this combination work with any other trailer combos ?

horse wont travel in a single and im not keen on the derby with only a rear unload option

What you need to do is to see if down plating to a level which matches in with your vehicle GVW in keeping both together adding up to no more than 3500kg will leave enough load capacity in the trailer for your horse/load

Example
Car GVW 2100
Trailer down plated from 2200 to 1400
Trailer weight empty 1000
That only leaves 400 for the load/horse
