Does anyone tow with a Honda CRV 1.6 AWD 2016 ? It has enough capacity (2000kg) for a light trailer 850kg, and my 500kg horse. But I'm wondering if it is really up to it?
I have two friends who tow with CRVs and are happy with them but they have the diesel models that can tow 2200kg. A 1.6l seems a bit of a small engine size to me but it has a decent towing capacity and you have a decent amount of leeway on that so I would think you'll be ok. I suppose the terrain you'll be towing on makes a difference, you migh struggle up a steep hill but you'll be ok in a relatively flat area.
Mine is a diesel. Both the 1.6 and 2.2 are shown with the same towing capacity of 2000kg which is why I'm querying the ability of the 1.6. Like you say, it might just struggle on hills etc. Thank you
