Towing vehicles - advice needed - which one to buy?

I have a Shogun SWB 4work automatic and tow an Ifor 506 with a 15.1 and a 14.1 and it is effortless. It is classed as a van because it only has two seats and blacked out rear windows but the advantages are that I only pay van road tax which is half that of the car version and the boot is absolutely huge. I get 6 bales of shavings in easily and that’s with permanent plastic storage boxes behind the seats for other horsey paraphernalia. So in answer to your question I would say yes it will be fine ?

For that small a budget it might be worth looking at the 4track? Daihatsu that is. I was having a quick look yesterday as my lease car goes back in 6 months (can't flipping wait I hate it) and you can pick up a daihatsu for under £3k now - will be high mileage but they are serious work horses and will go on forever, and tow a small house.
Otherwise I personally am hoping to get a shogun. Had a Pajero before and loved it although wasn't the most reliable, I think I was probably just unlucky tho.
Double can pick up - be wary of older navara model, just google 'knackered navara' to find out why, it happened to me and I lost a lot of money!
l loved my Pajero but when it needed a second replacement engine l waved good bye!! Before that l have a Trooper which was probably the best two vehicle but got to 200,000 miles Last tow vehicle was A discovery which would go through anything.

a friend recommended Jeep Grand Cherokee, diesel. One poster has a good experience of them. Has anyone else had one ? There is one for sale that I like the look of, it has 91K miles on it, it is diesel, 3125CC.
Yes I had one. It was an automatic and was fantastic. I only paid £2509 fir it off eBay too.
Also try looking at Nissan Terranos and Ssangyong Rexton.

I was just about to suggest a Grand.

We had one for 4 years. Loved it. Towing capacity of 3.5t, its lovely to drive, reliable and an excellent daily car.

However you want the 2.7crd diesel. Its a merc engine, easy to maintain and repair, its well known so parts are easy to get and the gearbox is bombproof.

I'd have another in a flash.

(I've worked in the motor trade for 13years BTW)
