Does anyone have any experience of towing with a yeti?

My OH has the option of a Yeti as a company car and it has great reviews for towing caravans but I can't seem to find anything about its performance for pulling a horse trailer.

It has a towing capacity of 2000kg and my plan is to get a bateson or cheval trailer so max unladen weight 860kg and would be mostly towing one 500kg horse and occasionally two.

Unfortunately I don't have the option of a 'proper' 4x4 with a bigger towing weight and this seems to be my only chance of sorting my own transport!

Towing just the one horse is comfortably under the weight limit but I just wondered if anyone had thoughts or experiences of towing 2 towards the upper limits?

If I towed 2 it would be on Tarmac to forestry commissions and not on grass or nasty inclines.

Any thoughts or opinions greatly appreciated

Make sure he can get top of the range, the 2l TDi 170bhp. I would say they are small for towing horse boxes, weight ratio is important. It is quite an expensive option, I've just ordered and L&K model that comes in at £25 grand! Tow bar is an expensive extra (about £500) even on this top spec model.

Well, not much help but I am seriously thinking of trading in my Trooper for a Subaru Legacy Outback, similar towing capacity to the Yeti. I hardly ever tow now since I stopped competing and for the odd trip for a hack or to the vets the Subaru will cope fine with one horse and a IW505.

Manuals tow more than automatics. I seriously would doubt that the Yeti will tow two horses, my Issan x trail has a top mam of 2000kg, that works out as ideal for a one horse trailer with my horse. Maybe pm ROG, the towing expert.

Thanks guys, really appreciate your input.

It would generally be used for one horse back and forth to riding club as I'm currently hitching a lift.

Towing 2 is my ideal really - would love to be able to take myself and friend to some decent off road riding.
