Hi,

I have an ageing 4x4 as my tow car at the mo. Have seen a Volvo V70 2.5 Petrol and was wondering how it would tow a trailer plus 1x16.2 horse? Weights add up 'legally' as trailer is 906kg, plus horse around 500kg, but would like to know if it would struggle with that weight or feel unsafe?
Any Volvo owners opinions please?

Cheers

We pull with an XC70 and have no worries, wouldnt know if she was there. Doesnt feel athing with a single ifor behind it!

That's great - looks like a new car then! Next question - is conversion to lpg a viable option? I suspect it will reduce car performance and therefore won't tow as well.

Used to tow all the time and now sometimes with an automatic 760 GLE (2.8 litres) depending on how reliable the LR is being. It's effortless frankly. I found especially on longer trips that the consumption was very good.
