Good morning all,
I am considering purchasing an Audi A6 Allroad (probably 2014-2016 model) and was wondering if anyone else on the forum uses one to tow with, or has used one?
Realistically I don't think we will be towing over 1800kg but would like to know if the car and trailer feel stable and safe? Also what mpg are you getting solo/towing?
Many Thanks

I don't tow with an A6 Allroad but I do with an A4 Allroad. It's great. Stable, pulls well (190 bhp engine, 2 litre diesel).

Bit of a thread resurrection - apologies!

OP @Damo82 did you buy one in the end and if so how is it going?

I currently have a pickup but for 80% of the time it’s our family car and the other 20% we tow the horse around.

@phizz4 interested to know more about how the A4 manages? I had looked at it to avoid the complex air suspension on the A6 but wondered if it might struggle??

Cheers Si

Not the exact same but for comparison we had a 2016 passat alltrack to tow with and I haven't had any issues. It has 2.2t towing and I have towed richardson supreme ultra (1.1t) and 1 clydesdale (0.8-0.85t) all over the place with no issues.
I didn't like to push it over 56mph on the motorway or it could feel a little unstable but have had no other complaints.
When not towing we can get just under 60mpg, when towing I could average 30-32mpg depending on where we were going.

No that’s really useful actually thank you as that was another car I was looking at. I can’t justify driving the pickup daily for the odd towing occasion each month so looking at capable AWD estates that will fill the void.

Like the Passat so thanks for that experience.
