Hi everyone,
I'm getting brain fizz from thinking about towing options. Ideally we would like to have a big people carrier or estate to tow one horse plus lightweight single horse trailer. A Discovery would be nice but the cost of running 4 x 4's seems prohibitive.
I see that the tow weight of Galaxy/Sharans is 2000kg - as much as a Freelander - so I would be well within the limits weightwise. I only need to go out once a month or so and nowhere muddy but...
I don't actually see anyone towing with these cars 'though which gets me wondering!! Does anyone have any experience of towing with these vehicles?
(When I have towed a trailer with my Citroen C8 people carrier with just a pony in it it struggled, especially reversing up a slight incline - despite being "legal" weightwise. I wouldn't dream of towing my heavy horse with it! It is only 110bhp 'though...)
Any thoughts / advice appreciated...
