Hi I have a freelander 2 td4 and a bookamnn old style trailer 800kg, my horse roughly weighs 500kg , am I legal to tow on a B licence as the combined weight would be under 3500kg?

It would depend. If you can find out the Gross Vehicle Weight of the car and the Maximum Admissable Mass of the trailer we could tell you. Those 2 added together must be less than 3500kg, so the max potential weight of the car plus trailer not the actual weight. You can get trailers downrated to help

Licences go on the plated weights not the actual weights

It’s all confusing , my car weighs 1795kg. Where would I find the plated weights ?

My car can tow 2000kg

Then the max trailer plated MAM weight you can tow on a B licence is 1450kg

The trailer has no plate on it and where it’s an old Böckmann trailer they won’t give me info as can’t find serial number on it either. What part on the tyres do I add together? It’s a pony size trailer half plywood and half fibre glass . I would out a pic up but don’t know how to do it .

If they add up to more than 1450 then it cannot legally be driven under B licence rules

Not if the total of the tyre load ratings on the trailer + the 2050 GVW of the vehicle total more than 3500kg

Loaded or empty the max weights remain the same for licencing
