Towing

Hey all,
I have a jag f pace and a iw hb506. I have a 16.1h ISH. I want to take my friend to a competition on Sunday. She has a 15h Welsh mare. Do you think this will be too much?

Depends on what the towing capacity of the car is.

If it’s 2400kg you’ll be fine. The 506 weighs 900kg which means you could put 1500kg of horse on there before you reach the capacity. Yours is probably about 600kg and hers would be in the region of 450kg so plenty to spare.

Just the same, in fact easier, the weight is more even than say one horse on one side ?

it’s the same but you might feel like you have a bit less power pulling away and braking will be slower. Just to be aware!

I regularly tow 2100kg with my f-pace. It copes fine.

Does your f pace also have a detachable tow bar? And do you tow 2 horses x

Yes I have a detachable tow bar. I remove it when not in use (the garage were very strict about that!).
My trailer weighs 1450 kg empty (it’s an Equitrek) so I only ever tow one with the fpabe (he’s 550kg). So by the time I add tack, kit, water etc (all in the trailer) it’s at 2100 kg.
it has always towed nicely, up hills, in muddy fields etc with that set up.
