Mine is fairly weather resistant and only complains at hail stones (don't blame him! we turned around pretty sharpish that time). I can cope with two out of three of dark, wet and windy, but all three really make me want to stay inside. Monster's main walk is always in the morning because that way I'm sure that whatever other mayhem happens in the day, he's been walked. I'm in a remote rural area, so have no worries walking in the dark, I just won't walk near unharvested corn fields in case of wild board (not actually seen one in 30 years of being in the area, but they are there!). If I'm in the office, Dad takes monster out at lunchtime and if I'm WFH I do. And I try for a short walk after dinner (as opposed to chucking him in the garden), but that doesn't always happen. In between those times, he's hogging the sofa.

Sometimes I find the best plan is to put on my trail shoes and running gear, chuck on a canicross rig and go slopping through the wettest and muddiest trails I can find and laugh at the sheer ridiculousness of it. My dog loves the cold and wet so I don’t have any excuses, although thankfully he will accept a 20min leg stretch if i am being lazy.

Sounds exactly like my two!

Friday is non working day for me so we had a great big walk (almost three hours!) exploring new area and streets. Wouldn't be a good one for the evenings as no lighting. We found a good off lead spot we didn't know about which was a bonus. Enclosed on three sides by sheer, incredibly high banks and a tall railwayline fence. It was deserted so we let her off and she loved it! We got to practice some whistle recall. One failed but it was a good lesson for me for future. The secure field we use is booked up so absolute bonus to get the off lead time in.

Also inspired me to practice getting on the train with Ivy. Our evening walks could involve a short train ride to a leafier part of town and then back again. ?
