Hi All!

I thought everyone might like a bit of a happy story and its all thanks to you lovely HHO's!

My precious Ginger Ninja was LOU just over 3 years ago at the age of 10 as he didnt seem to recover from KSS, but he was fine to hack. Cue not-quite-right loan home, more saddle fitting problems, a new horse who ended up with even worse KSS and a very depressed me begging for any advice/words of wisdom on here.

Anyway, someone recommneded The Saddle Company for GN. Tried everything ele, so why not? Out came Sam Barrett (my official Horsey Hero!!!) and pondered why he had a 17.5'' saddle fitted when he clearly couldnt take more than a 16.5'' saddle? Not sure says I, thats what 5 other master saddlers (and nearly £10k in saddles) have said.

I have now had new saddle for 8 weeks. GN is working in the most perfect outline, cantering, jumping, you name it, he can do it. He is the dream horse I always wanted. So I am now going to try and get him un-LOU! The other donkey is coming along well too (although he has his own disasters to contend with!!)

So basically, thanks for all the advice and help! And for anyone else with problem horses, keep hope - its taken 7 HORRIBLE years but my superstar has finally arrived, and he was here all along, he just needed a bit of help. Just have a little faith (and Sam if you have saddle problems!!) :)

Oh, and can you feed human Glucosamine to horses? Its soooo much cheaper????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;):D

yes about the glucosamine to horses and CONGRATULATIONS!!!! that is so great so pleased for you what a relief pics soon please! xx

Yes- 90% of horsey medical stuff costs less if you buy the human equivalent and is fine to feed... Hibiscrub is another good example of that!

Yay for the saddle! It's amazing when you get one which really, truly fits- you might as well be on a different horse!

I certainly will! Am planning my first attack on the show circuit in the next few weeks. Not sure if it will be dressage or SJ. Who knows? I'm so excited that I don't care! And I finally get to use my shiny lorry that has been sat on the drive for 3 years! And use all the pointless shiny things I have bought in lieu of actually riding my horses.

SO EXCITED - I FEEL LIKE I'M ABOUT 8 AGAIN!!!!!!!! :D

That's good! You don't need to 'unLoU' - you can do what you like with a LoU horse, you just can't insure it for that problem, and as KS will be excluded on your insurance anyway by now, then I can't really see the issue?

Really? Thats even more awesome!!! He was originally LOU as he couldnt do BE, which is what he was purchased for. But since I don't want to do that anymore anyway (eggshell head!!), thats super!

And thanks for the supplement link!
