I have just bought a Branded British Warmblood mare (Bay in Sig) her passport started in 2005 and I have the owners address who arranged the passport at that time, she is simply named Annie on her passport with a birth year of 1997. I bought her from a lovely caring dealer who does not have any information on her past apart from the fact she was bought after living out for 12 months with no rug and looked like an rspca case when they bought her (or rescued her more to the point). Anna passed a 5 stage vetting I arranged, amazing even though she had obviously been so neglected.
I am aware only the elite mares get branded with the cross and crown of the british Warmblood Studbook, so it seems unbelievable she did not come with papers, does anyone have any suggestions or ideas on how I could go about tracing her breeding/papers?
Any help would be so much appreciated as when she improves in condition I would love to have a foal from her a year or so down the line.
