(Have had a trawl through similar posts but unfortunatley not had much luck, despite there being similar threads!)

Was basically wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of the databse for Holland/Netherlands and their microchips.

Discovered after 4 years that my horse IS infact microchipped but it is a 528 number.. so he's potentially NOT the IDXTB I thought he was!!

Any help would be great - thanks.

I went down this route... it was a dead end ;). Mine was described as "came from Ireland, papers lost", but has a microchip.

We decided in the end that breeder had found a random microchip to insert to comply with the "all horses must be microchipped" rule, but it was never registered. Small Irish breeders don't always follow the letter of the law, more the spirit of it :D

However, I will watch your thread with interest as I would still love to know more than just "random Irish horse" about mine.

There were a lot of European horses that failed their gradings shipped to Ireland and then on to here and sold as Irish.

The country code for the Netherlands is 528 (or 530 for the Netherlands Antilles). The Backhome® microchip in the Netherlands present this code structure: 528140nnnnnnnnn, 528210nnnnnnnnn, 530210nnnnnnnnn.

In the Netherlands, there are many databases, like:

Chipnummer.nl
Meta -search engine browsing many existing databases
http://www.chipnummer.nl
NDG (National Database Companion animals)
It belongs to the "Royal Vet Association" & to the "Dutch Kennel Club"
0900 4040456
http://www.databankgezelschapsdieren.nl/

Hope this helps.
