I sold my horse back in 2008, due to finances, however circumstances have changed and although he went to a lovely home I would like to see how he is.

Basically I know where the yard is but have not got a phone number for them. Would it be rude to just turn up and if they're are not there leave a letter? I have tried an ad on freeads asking for info but didn't get very far!

Iniitially all I want to do is say hi, see how he is, see how they are getting on. (Selfishly though yes I would like him back!)Can't do any harm to ask can it?

Just incase anyone may know who, I'm talking of Norman, 17hh ex p2p, tb chestnut gelding, sold to Verity of Aveton Gifford! Poor Normy....he's the horse in my avatar.

Has anyone done this or had this happen to them? How did it go?

If you know where he is then pop down and leave a note - then they can get in touch if they want.

Good luck

I did this once, i popped down to see how an old horse was getting on, the owners weren't there but the yard owner was, i saw him in the field and then they gave me their phone number, i am sure they wont mind, as long as you don't do it sneakily

Iwould love an old owner to pop in a see how my boy was doing. I met his old owner on a hunt ride, she couldn't believe it was the same horse, said he still moved well then spent the rest of the time trying to avoid me. All the info I had on him was that he was troublesome!! I would love someone to pop in to give me a bit more info or just to see how he is!

i wouldnt mind if eney one turned up and like you said youv lost there number so they probably think you arent bothering id go even just to say hia

Well I went to the yard, but they are not there! Only 5 stables (which are newly built) in a barn and ano sign of him or any of his rugs/tack so I think they have moved....

I left a message on their whiteboard so we shall wait and see if I get any response from that....

Worth a try though, but disappointed, just wanted to say Hello!
