tracing german microchip to find out breeding HELP!

HELP

can anyone tell me where i can start, i just got a charity case broodmare, she is 7 and been used as a brood mare, but microchipped german, when sold to previous owners they got the wrong german passport with her. so now just got a bog standard. How would i go about finiding this out i have read many stories of people with this problem and finding out there breeding, would love to find out. where would i start?

Does she have a brand? If so can you just send her MC nbr to the breed society of the brand she has. If there is no brand I should imagine it is going to be a bit harder but with a MC is wont be impossible.

There are a few websites where you might be able to identify the chip at;

Or perhaps contact some of the German breed societies to see if she was registred with them when she got chipped.

In the past vets in Germany have chipped horses but these have not always been recorded on any database only the sticker in the passport. It is quite worring that the original passport has been lost and a replacement from another organisation issued which is of course illegal
