Tracing papers.. impossible??

As we are Amber's third family, do you think it would be impossible to track down her papers? I know she is a pedigree, but when a dog has papers what does this entail? Or is it different depending how it was done? Sorry if it all sounds a bit thick, Ive never had a dog with papers before (as my Inuit isnt a recognised breed)

It'll be difficult if you don't know the name of the original breeder. If you can find that out and her approximate age, the KC may be able to help, ot possibly an enthusiast in the breed. Other than finding that sort of thing out, I don't think you'll be able to get very far. What breed is she?

She's an Alaskan Malamute and approximately 19 months old, I have contacted the lady we got her off to see if I can trace contacts back to the breeder, but I dont know if I'll get anywhere.

I contacted the KC recently to try and chase upmy pups papers, i was told they wouldnt be able to trace my pup unless i knew the parents names and registration numbers. Needless to say I dont have either. Hope you have better luck though.

You really need to have at least her parents registered names to try and trace her. She came through rescue didn't she - they might have some details which could help you. Failing that, it might be worth contacting a Malamute breed club and seeing if they can help. If you actually know her date of birth there might not be many litters born then as they are not great number of malamutes about.
