My mare is recovering from a sudden bout of laminitis and has mild rotation in all 4 feet (ranging from 3.5 down to 1.1) but has been sound and pulse free for several weeks now so she is going out in the school while I muck out twice a day. Our fields have just been rolled and harrowed so are like bowling greens minus any grass!!!! Apart from literally the odd blade of grass as there is nothing for her to eat is it ok for me to turn her and her friend out on to a track and feed them their soaked hay outside instead of being stuck in all day. I was going to start with mornings only then if pulses still down and ok after a week up it to all day but in at night. The ground is slightly damp underfoot so not rock hard so hopefully should be quite forgiving. Does this sound like a good plan???
