I have just brought a saddle off ebay on a trial and return basis. Its english leather, stamped with made in walsall with a serial number but no makers badge.
The seller did say that she removed it from ebay as her saddler had said there was slight give in the seat. When it arrived i checked it throughly and although when checking for a broken tree the saddle does give slightly (i mean a few mm) there are no creases, lines, folds etc on the seat, gullet, flocking etc which leads me to believe it was built on a spring tree which would explain the very very slight give
Is there anywhere i can enter the serial number to find out. Obviously it is on trail so i dont want to take it to a saddler to strip down the check the tree.
Any suggestions?
