A friend of mine has recently been very picky when looking at riders implying that “they can’t ride” and “should know better” because when doing flat on their horse they aren’t tracking up. Now I understand for a horse to track up they must be working properly- which of course is great, but surely a horse can be working fairly well and not be tracking/ the rider can still be riding well?
I could be totally wrong but it just feels a bit wrong shaming a rider because their horse isn’t tracking up... like some riders may just lack the knowledge at the stage of training they are at but surely a very knowledgeable rider could struggle to get a horse to track up if it’s not had the correct schooling/ got the confirmation to make it “naturally easy”.
surely deciding whether a rider is doing the right thing purely because a horse won’t track up almost shows lack of knowledge? I’m not sure!!!!
